Freelance invoicing wasn't built for how film crew get paid.
Generic invoice templates assume one rate and one client. A shoot never works that way.
- 1
Every show pays differently
Day rate, per diem, and overtime terms change from client to client, sometimes show to show.
- 2
Overtime has two rates, not one
1.5× and 2× need separate tracking — a flat hourly rate gets the maths wrong.
- 3
Work and travel per diems aren't the same line
Lump them together and the total stops matching what was agreed.
- 4
Nothing chases a late client
A generic template doesn't know an invoice has gone quiet.

Built for how crew actually get paid.
Here is the invoice a gaffer sends after a fortnight on a shoot, and what it takes to make it in Caley.
- 1
Pick the show and the client
Your address, banking details, and the client's rates are already on file. Nothing gets retyped.
- 2
Log the days
Six shoot days and two travel days. Work and travel per diems are held separately, so each day gets the right one.
- 3
Add the overtime
Three hours at 1.5× and one at 2×. Enter the hours and the date; Caley prices them.
- 4
Send the PDF
Numbered, branded, totalled, with your bank details on it. Download it or email it from the invoice page.

Tell Caley what you did on the job. It drafts the invoice, runs the maths, and hands it back for you to check.
- Create a full invoice from a single sentence
- Ask what you're owed, who's late, and which client bills most
- Update a draft: add overtime, expenses, or notes
- Runs on Claude, from Anthropic
